2018 has been a crazy year in which we have seen so much of God’s goodness and provision.
We started off as new residents of Durbanville - I started a new job, we had just joined a new church and small group, and we were settling in to life in the suburbs. And now here we are in Dubai - Morné 6 months into his new job, me being home, at a new church with new friends.
In between this craziness my brother got married (what an amazing wedding - best time ever!) and I was crazy enough to be part of a musical (so much fun!).
I am so extremely thankful for every person that has been a part of our journey this year - you guys have been a gift from God!
All of our Paarl friends who supported us in our move to Durbanville and continued staying in touch and visiting us - you are so precious to us!
To all our new (and some old) Durbanville friends - you made us feel so at home and helped us settle so quickly that we were very sad to leave even after only staying for 8 months. Thank you for the way in which you welcomed us into the community!
(To my new colleague-friends and students at Durbanville - thank you for accepting me and making me feel welcome: you are all sorely missed)
To our incredible family, who supported us in moving both to Durbanville and to Dubai - we love you so much. It has been so great having a lot of you come to Dubai and experience our new life here.
To our new friends in Dubai - you have been such a blessing in helping us settle in and making this city feel like home. We look forward to many more great times in 2019.
To all friends who don’t really fit one of these descriptions but continue to be a part of our lives - thank you for being there for us and continuing to stay in touch.
Lastly, to my best friend, partner-in-everything, husband of the century - thank you for having my back through the good times and the bad. I am so blessed to be your wife - thank you for facing every challenge with me. I love you so much.
God has truly used the people in our lives to make this challenging year so much easier. We love you and wish you a very blessed 2019.
